Film poster analysis

Blade Runner

From this film poster I can tell that this film is has a hybrid-genre of Sci-fi/Action because the film poster shows people there is artificial intelligence but also the man seems to be holding a futuristic gun which links in to the Sci-fi and Action genres. The colour scheme of dark blues, greys and bright yellows also suggests to me that this is a Sci-fi film. I think the narrative could be that this man has to go along on this mission to fight against artificial intelligence but comes across this women who becomes his love interest that causes difficulties in his mission.

Scary Movie 2

From this film poster I can tell that this film is a Horror-Comedy hybrid because of the spooky and eerie background. The dark colours suggest that something ominous is supposed to happen to the characters on the film poster. By their facial expression I can tell that this movie will bring laughter to the audience but also give them a shock as well. The target audience seems to be people in their mid-teens onward who would understand the adult humour in this film. The narrative could be that there are several different things going on at the same time because of the seven different characters that have been portrayed on the film poster. This film poster suggests that there will be several disasters that come upon the characters.

Uzak

From this film poster I can tell that this film is quite moving because of this sad colour scheme. The use of browns and pale colours suggests that there is a depressing aspect in the movie. The fact that there is a man but his face is hidden and you can only see his back side suggests that the narrative is based upon him and he has a story to tell. It suggests that by the end of this movie the audience would know who this man is and how he looks like. The background suggests that this movie could be set during one of the world wars or the industrial revolution. This film targets an older and wiser audience who would understand all the emotions within the film.

I'm not scared

The fact that the main image is a young boy suggests that this film is targeted at people aged between 10 and over. This boy is looking down probably into a hole which is significant because the audience cannot see what he is looking bringing in more viewers as they would have to go watch the film in order to find out what he was looking at. The genre seems to be adventure but has some aspects of thriller as well. The narrative seems to be about this young boy who goes on an adventure to conquer his fear.

Sin City

From this film poster I can tell that this film is a thriller-action hybrid because of the weapons. All the characters are holding a gun and pointing it in different directions suggesting that all these characters are apart of the same group and they are fighting against someone perhaps the man in the smaller image. The target audience seems to be people aged from 16 on wards. This film poster hints at a lot of violence so it would not be suitable for a younger audience.

Pirates of the Caribbean

I can tell that this film is about a group of pirates who go on an adventure to find a dead mans chest hoping to find some treasure hidden inside suggesting that this film is a hybrid genre of fantasy and adventure. This film has a target audience of people aged between 8 and on wards because another poster has Disney written on it suggesting that they have a young audience too. The fact that there is only one female and two males suggest there could be a potential love triangle in the movie.

Bride and Prejudice

From this film poster I can tell that this film is about a female character who falls in love with a man but has some difficulties and this film shows how they come about that situation. I think this film is aimed at people from 14 and on wards because it could have some adult humour and would not be suitable for people any younger. This film is a mix of romance, drama and comedy because it has all these smaller people in the background who seem to be the girls family that will bring some humour into the film.

Million Dollar Baby

I  can tell that this film is about a women who is training to be a boxer and she gets help from the two male characters. It also suggests that she forms a close bond with one of the characters. I can tell this is a sport/drama film because of the female characters clothing. This film is aimed at people from the age of 15 on wards because it could contain some explicit content that is not suitable for a younger audience.
