summer project film pitch

A Level Media NEA – Brief 4: Film trailer and posters Film Pitch Our coursework brief requires us to create our own film trailer and posters for an original movie that we have created in the horror or coming-of-age drama genres. Plan the following: Title:       My Secret Diary …. Tagline:    Secrets are made to be told…. Genre (and sub-genre/hybrid genre if applicable):    coming of age/ teen/ drama Logline – one sentence that sums up the film and hooks people in (25 words or fewer): Other successful films that are similar to yours:   Bend it Like Beckham Narrative structure – what happens in the film and in what order: The film starts of with a girl writing in her secret diary, the diary that holds all her thoughts and emotions and obviously secrets, it is something that no one knows about and that she carries with her everywhere. summer project - statement of intent

Statement of Intent: My aim is to tell a story about a stereotypical teenage Asian girl and her struggles to maintain her parents’ wishes whilst trying to come to terms with her own desires. The story will show the journey for the teenager and how she struggles with popularity forcing her to do things that she is uncomfortable with. Throughout all of this, she writes everything down in her 'secret diary ' that nobody knows about. However, her parents soon come to find out about all of her struggles and are disappointed because they thought their daughter is well cultured and had strong values .  The main character is a 17-year-old girl originating from an orthodox Asian family . Her outside persona is of a good daughter following her parents’ wishes of a good education and practising religion. Although she pulls off a good front, she struggles internally with the pressure to keep up the good grades whilst having a social status which  for example forces her to wear

summer project trailer analysis

Bend it Like Bekcham: Narrative and genre How is narrative and genre communicated quickly and clearly to the audience? Bend it like Bechkaham within the first ten seconds of the trailer conveys it’s narrative. This is shown as an Indian mother tells her Indian daughter that she cannot play soccer. However her daughter refuses and continues on with her passion and becomes a brilliant player who goes abroad to play in competitions. As her parents come from Punjab, they believe that this is her age to get married and it’s not a feminine thing to be playing soccer. Despite living in a western society they do not approve and are adamant against it.   Life of Pi:   Mise-en-scene What do you notice about the use of mise-en-scene to create meanings for the audience? Think CLAMPS. Life of Pi creates meanings by starting off the trailer with the new equilibrium where the main actor reminisces and tells the story of his journey . There is a establishing shot that starts the s
